MÖTLEY CRÜE tapped longtime friend and fan Frank Zummo (STREET DRUM CORPS) to fill in for drummer Tommy Lee at the band's three shows this past weekend: August 21 in Virginia Beach, Virginia; August 22 in Bristow; and August 23 in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Zummo recently spent time in the studio with STREET DRUM CORPS (S.D.C.) bandmates Bobby Alt and Adam Alt working on the group's debut double album, due out early 2010 via Interscope Records.
SEVENDUST drummer Morgan Rose stepped in for Lee at five of MÖTLEY CRÜE's recent dates — August 14 at the Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati, Ohio; August 15 at Clarkston, Michigan's DTE Energy Music Theatre; August 16 at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania's Post-Gazette Pavilion; August 18 at PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, New Jersey; and August 19 at the Comcast Center Event in Mansfield, Massachusetts.
Lee was forced to sit out the Crüe Fest 2 shows after burning his left hand while playing with a set of sparklers.
